Well last night saw the last of this seasons actual football being played (Confederations Cup) and before we know it the new football season will be upon us. As always the new football season generally means the next installment of our favorite football management game.
Don’t get me wrong I like FM09 but there is room for improvement. Some things I’d like to see in the next version of Football Manager, Football Manager 2010:
- I’d like to be able to ’shout’ (you know what I mean) instructions during the game to specific players while they are playing
- Maybe be able to start as a youth/reserve team manager and work your way through the ranks of the club
- Improve the 3D
- Rework the tactics screens
I know Sports Interactive like to know what us fans would like to see in the next installment of Football Manager (Football Manager 2010) so what do you guys think?
Once we get a decent amount of comments I’ll let the guys at Sports Interactive know.

I think the “current ability” and the “potential ability” of every person needs a very high reconsideration!!! I Think it has to be more realistic. You should make it more realistic with the prices of players. When buying players like Sergio Ramos, I have to spend at least £110 million to buy him, Rooney costs £80mill and Ronaldo is £100mill these should be more reflective on the player and more realistic. Also when teams are buying my players I get stroked every time on them, I never get offered large amounts of money for any of my players.
I like the idea of the trophy room, also being able to shout at the players during the game, all you have is half time to influence the game. Also with the tactics side, once I have the tactics perfected with 1 team I use it for all my teams and it works perfectly and I win the league every year with whatever team im using it on. There needs to be abit more variation on this to make it harder to win.
Need more scandal in the game to be more realistic and also crowd chants at players so that affects their game, such as players going back to old rival clubs or players playing against teams that dont like them and single them out.
if u win a cup or league u should be able to watch yur team lift the trophy and fire works go off in the background and also improved shooting graphics coz all they do is swing there leg back and then forward and the ball just stays ded straight
I think that there should be a whole new scouting system because in real life clubs invest millions into scouting, so why cant it be the same in the games? You could create soccer schools in other countrys and hire coaches to go and work at the schools. And you can get feedback every month about who is and isnt doing well. And at the end of every season you get sent a list of players who are ready to have trials at your club.
i’d like to be able to list more than one favoured club. say if you had been managing a team for a set period (3 seasons??) then you get the option to add them to your list of favoured teams.
and on the tactic screen, like it used to be where you could right click and move the ‘run’ arrows in different directions.
Here’s a list of feature I’d like to see on the new football manager 2010:
1. When in a game, you can shout instructions/encouragement to your players from the byline by right clicking a certain player and a drop list comes out. Furthermore, when you are about to make a substitution, you can encourage a player to fire him up.
2.Although it’ll mean eating up more graphic juice from our desktop, I personally would like to see the supporters in the stadium. And just right before kick-off, we can see players line-up on the pitch.
3.Players interaction can be a little more realistic, not every “praise” or “criticism” must be only made known to the player through the media.
4.Training: if we want a certain player to improve his stats, we can just click in his profile which stats we want him to concentrate to improve.
5.Create competition and build academies in own/other region for youngsters to unearth new potential.
6.I have a feeling the AI managers in this game is always targeting my shortlist players. Before I have them shortlisted, no one was interested in the player I was going to buy, but after I shortlisted them, all the other clubs seemed to be lining up for him!
definitively that about trophy room and shouting needs to be done!!
..err, what if i shout (instruct my players) ?? I’d like to see result of that not just to have a tool which can offer me that and their game will be still without improvement.
and I must say this: The most annoying thing is when I’d like to buy a world class player.. for example If I’m interested in Chiellini or Vidic I need to sped a fortune of 100 millions!! This frustrate me more when they offer just 15 millions for my best defender who is maybe better than those above!!! wow i hate that unrealistic market conditions.. PLEASE do sth about that! I played hard this game since 2004 and I have never spent more than a 40 milions for a defender.. and I will never spend
i have to disagree with you guys, the transfer stuff is dead on point.
Off course you gonna pay more for those high profile players, even the have equal skills as someone else. thats how it is in reality as well. roony would never be sold for 50 mill, cmon guys.
love the game though, some aspect can be improve, like the player rating future ability, the stars should be more than 5 so that the gamer especially newbie could judge them better, and also the search bar shud included clubs not just players
More options on setting up free kicks and corners. Planned moves and more specific movement options for attacking players.
I will just say that this game is AWESOME and absolutely BRILLIANT!

I think they should improve the price of players so they reflect they abilities not just how they are. Improve the cup draw because you always seam to get the hard teams were ever you start ” 3rd round i got Man Utd, 4th round got liverpool, 5th round got everton, and then semis got Man City” and that happen 3 times to me
so never won it. Goalkeepers reactions need to be improved cos they don’t seam to do loads of diving saves in less you have 18 19 20 in reactions and one-on-one’s and most keepers even with 12 and 13 would still dive for a long shot etc… so those improvements would be great
