FM2010 Tactic 4-2-3-1

This is a tactic I’ve been using with my West Ham team and I have had some fantastic results with it playing Football Manager 2010 patch 3, it’s a good tactic.

It essentially revolves around a short quick passing game and pressing the opposition to force errors.

The basic formation is a 4-2-3-1 like this:

4-2-3-1 Formation

Player Attributes

FB – Normal full back stats. Bonus attributes are first touch & passing
CB – Normal centre back stats. Bonus acceleration & pace
DMC – These are the main boys in the team so make sure you have some good players. You really want for these boys good passing, first touch, stamina, teamwork & tackling. Bonus would be concentration & positioning.
WG – What you’d expect dribbling, pace & crossing.
AC – Key really but think creativity, pace, passing & finishing.
ST – He will be your lone big dog up front so think heading, finishing, team work, acceleration & composure.

Zonal marking saves your stamina. Man marking waste your stamina chasing the man u marked.

Yeah i realise that, but is for example dyer a trequartista or is he just a normal offensive midfielder and is it offensive fullbacks or defensive fullbacks??? (i succeded to take Newcastle back to the pl and i have started with 3 wins and 1 loss in my first matches there with the tactic)

I like your tactic, i usually play with the

4-1-3-2 formation but i decided to give your tactic a shot. But which "role" did gave the players at each position?:)

So far so good from me. I likes :D

Chris, I generally flip between the two because much of it depends on what the type of players you have. Some players are great at man marking and are useless at zonal and vise-versa. It generally depends on their attributes.

I've never liked Zonal Marking and never actually tried it on FM. May i ask why you use it and why you think it's better than man marking?

    Thanks,

    Chris
