It’s 2011/2012 Fantasy Football time

Well it is that time of the year again when we can all dip our toes into the realm of managing actual real life players, in an erm fantasy kind of way of course.

This year will be the 4th year of thefootymanager.com and I for one rolled back the years last season and had a blinding season finishing in the top 5 of the 50 man league.

To enter the league simply:

head over to http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
sign in/register
pick your team (you can make as many changes as you like before August 12th so plenty of time to tinker)
Click the ‘Leagues’ tab
Click ‘Join a league’
Select ‘private league’
Enter the league code 948431-229373
BOOM – You are in

War Child – The charity for children affected by war

You may, or may not, know that Sports Interactive has been supporting the charity War Child now for many years. Every time one of you has bought a copy of Football Manager on PC, Mac or PSP we’ve donated a percentage of the price to War Child raising over £600,000 in the process.

For those not familiar with Warchild; their sole premise is that no child should be affected by war. Unfortunately, this is still not the case, but the work they are doing is providing incredibly valuable to those that still are. A few months ago, Miles Jacobson, the Studio Director here at SI, was asked to go on a trip with War Child so that he could see some of the work that these donations have helped fund. He leaves for this trip in the next few days and will be regularly recording his journey via a blog (when electricity and a net connection allow) which can be found at http://sportsinteractive.wordpress.com/.

As you may, or may not be aware, Football Manager Live, the new brainchild of Sports Interactive, is due to hit the streets on the 23rd January.
